Found this gem on yelp. Ended up going here twice. Judge if you must. The fried fish was perfectly seasoned and fresh, mac n cheese was good. The greens and string beans were good. You get a can soda with your meal and they actually had verners ginger ale.
It's weird that this is inside of a liquor store. But it's a whole kitchen and hot bar set up, so once you get in, you realize it's a real food place. Just no where to eat. And they have pizza. -

UPDATE- I have not eaten here in a year, and I'm not sure what the other reviewers are eating- but it cannot be the meatloaf. I was craving a good meatloaf and the last time around I ordered just that. It was delicious... a year ago. The meat is a cheaper quality filler type of meat. School cafeteria type meat- and not the better quality that they used to feed us in the 80s and 90s before the world turned to s***. The macaroni and cheese, yams, and greens were actually fairly delicious- it's just that, sides are designed to accompany a center piece... and the meatloaf failed. *sigh* -

DEAR GOD THEIR FOOD TASTES LIKE SOMEONE'S GRANNY IS IN THE BACK WITH THOSE SOCK FOOTIES SMACKING HANDS WITH A WOODEN SPOON.
Everything I have had here is delicious. Their greens have a little spicy kick and melt in your mouth. The mac n cheese is....well it is good enough to cause arguments between my kids. The chili sauce they use on that chicken?! Extremely balanced flavors. The ribs? 8 out of ten on average. And those little cornbread squares of joy they include with the meals....yes, ya'll. Yes.
Highly recommended. You get very large portions for a very reasonable price.
When I initially ordered I didn't realize this place was also a liquor store...who would have thought? -

I frequent here often when I want some homemade soul food without the hassle of slaving over a hot stove. They take pride in what they serve to the customers. Food always fried fresh to order. Excellent cooks!

My family enjoys food from Victory quite often as the food is usually on point and delicious! This time, I called and explained that I had a problem with the Mac & Cheese as it wasn't prepared the same as usual and had a strange tang that I couldn't quite determine if it might be spoiled. The guy was very apologetic and accommodating. He went and tasted the dish himself, called me back, agreed that something was off with the dish, and insisted on refunding the cost. Great customer service!
